The assignment runs until mid-June 2027, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to make a lasting difference. This position is onsite only.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TODHH) License issued by DESE is required
  • Demonstrated experience providing educational support to children or adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school settings
  • Strong knowledge of best practices for accessible instruction and communication strategies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers and school staff
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and advocacy skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting content as needed
  • Collaborate with teams at four area schools to implement student accommodations and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for DHH students within the school community
  • Maintain accurate documentation on student progress and attendance in accordance with school and state guidelines
  • Participate in meetings with families and interdisciplinary teams as needed

This contract opportunity provides the flexibility to work per diem, gain diverse experience across multiple schools, and the satisfaction of enhancing educational access for students with hearing loss.
