Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid credential or certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students across kindergarten through high school
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting curriculum to meet varied needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with staff, students, and families
- Comfort with technology and openness to virtual/VOCO (remote teaching) as needed
- Experience supervising or coordinating with paraeducators is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to DHH students across the district in both elementary and secondary settings
- Adapt lessons and materials to ensure accessibility and comprehension for all learners
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized educational goals
- Serve as a resource to staff and families, delivering advocacy and guidance on DHH best practices
- Travel within the district as needed to support students at multiple sites
