Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Great Barrington, Massachusetts

As a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, you’ll have the support of paraeducators while making a positive impact across different age groups and learning environments. Your expertise will directly empower students to achieve their best in academic and social settings.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state requirements must be met)
- Experience or strong interest working with both elementary and secondary populations
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education processes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Technological proficiency for virtual service delivery, if choosing VOCO
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across various schools in the district
- Consult with general education teachers, specialists, and paraeducators to ensure optimal student outcomes
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals
- Foster an inclusive, accessible classroom environment
- Offer guidance and strategies for effective communication and learning
- Maintain detailed records and participate in IEP meetings
