Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education.
- Experience supporting children and adolescents with hearing challenges across a K-12 environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with multidisciplinary teams and paraprofessionals.
- Understanding of IEP development and specialized instructional strategies for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Comfortable with adapting instruction for both in-person and virtual platforms, if needed.
- Ability to build rapport with students across diverse backgrounds and educational settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing differences across elementary and secondary schools within the district.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to individual student needs.
- Coordinate and collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and para support.
- Maintain ongoing communication regarding student progress and recommended accommodations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
