Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with hearing differences as a district-wide educator. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offers a diverse caseload that spans both elementary and secondary levels. As a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, you'll collaborate with paraprofessional support to ensure all students receive the specialized instruction and accommodations they need to thrive. Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education.
  • Experience supporting children and adolescents with hearing challenges across a K-12 environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with multidisciplinary teams and paraprofessionals.
  • Understanding of IEP development and specialized instructional strategies for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Comfortable with adapting instruction for both in-person and virtual platforms, if needed.
  • Ability to build rapport with students across diverse backgrounds and educational settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing differences across elementary and secondary schools within the district.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to individual student needs.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and para support.
  • Maintain ongoing communication regarding student progress and recommended accommodations.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
