Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) or eligibility for certification
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred but not required
- Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials to individual student needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, individually or in small groups
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
- Consult on accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology to promote access to the curriculum
- Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
- Serve as a resource to school staff, offering strategies to facilitate communication and learning
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to maximize growth
