Qualifications:

  • Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) or eligibility for certification
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred but not required
  • Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials to individual student needs
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, individually or in small groups
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
  • Consult on accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology to promote access to the curriculum
  • Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
  • Serve as a resource to school staff, offering strategies to facilitate communication and learning
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to maximize growth
