Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in an onsite role for the 2026-2027 academic year. You’ll have the opportunity to work collaboratively in a welcoming school setting, fostering communication skills and academic achievement for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This contract position runs from August 13, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with a standard 37.5-hour week.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid teacher certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other preferred modes of communication
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet a wide range of student needs
- Comfortable conducting assessments and collaborating on IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication skills and a cooperative attitude for working with educators and families
- Experience with varying amplification devices (preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grade levels K-12
- Adapt curriculum and implement individualized strategies to meet student goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to foster student progress
- Monitor, report, and document student growth and progress as part of the educational team
- Support development of language, academic, and social-emotional skills
- Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development
