Make a meaningful impact by providing vital support and instruction to K-12 students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This full-time, onsite position offers the opportunity to work with learners across a variety of grade levels, supporting their academic and social growth in a welcoming school setting for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, IEP processes, and accommodations for hearing impairments
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with general education teachers, specialists, families, and support staff
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction tailored to the individual needs of K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and maintain educational records
- Advocate for students’ access to educational materials, technology, and classroom activities
- Consult with classroom teachers to ensure accommodations are in place and to modify instructional strategies when necessary
- Encourage student growth in both academic and social-emotional domains
- Engage actively with families to support student learning and communication goals
