Multiple full-time contract positions are open for the 2026-2027 school year, supporting learners from elementary to high school grade levels. Roles include both school-based and itinerant assignments, ensuring meaningful variety and impact throughout the academic year.
You’ll play a vital role in providing individualized instruction, adapting curricula, and fostering communication through American Sign Language, spoken language, or total communication methods. The focus is on helping DHH students achieve their academic and social-emotional goals, ensuring accessibility and equity in all aspects of their education.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Florida Department of Education certification in Deaf or Hard of Hearing (K-12)
- DHH endorsement and general education certification appropriate for elementary, middle, or high school placements
- Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs, with a deep understanding of assistive technology and accommodations
- Knowledge of instructional strategies for DHH learners and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Recent fingerprint clearance (or eligibility through existing AHCA Clearinghouse registration)
- Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to collaborate with families, staff, and related service providers
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and communication support to DHH students across varied school environments
- Adapt and deliver lessons using appropriate accommodations, supporting both academic and language development
- Maintain compliant, data-driven IEPs; conduct assessments; document services and participate in ESE meetings
- Facilitate statewide testing accommodations and transition planning
- Collaborate with educational teams to coordinate services and train staff on technology and best practices
- Empower students through advocacy and promote social-emotional growth
