Teacher of the Deaf in Delray Beach, FL

Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Department of Education certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing K-12
- Relevant endorsements for DHH and general education certification for elementary, middle, or high school placements
- Recent fingerprint clearance, potentially transferable via AHCA Clearinghouse
- Strong proficiency in ASL, spoken English, or total communication approaches
- Prior experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students is highly desired
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and communication support to DHH students by modifying curriculum, applying assistive technologies, and fostering language development
- Maintain compliant, student-centered IEPs, conducting assessments, monitoring progress, and documenting accommodations
- Collaborate closely with families, interpreters, audiologists, speech therapists, counselors, and educational staff to ensure coordinated care, promote self-advocacy skills, and enhance student well-being
- Support students with accessible academic and social opportunities, active participation in statewide assessments, and seamless transition planning
- Provide ongoing training to staff on DHH needs and accommodations
