You’ll collaborate closely with educational teams and families, designing and implementing customized plans to meet each student’s unique needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Florida DHH teaching license required
- Experience teaching and supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ideally across elementary to high school ages
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop individualized educational programs (IEPs)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible classroom environment
- Familiarity with assistive technology and strategies for sensory support is a plus
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in cooperation with multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt curriculum and methods to support language acquisition and content mastery
- Communicate regularly with families and school staff to ensure ongoing success
- Serve as an advocate and resource on issues related to hearing impairment within the school community
