Your contract will run from August 3, 2026, through May 20, 2027, ensuring you have a consistent and rewarding experience. As the go-to professional for this caseload (details are pending), you’ll play a vital role in supporting students’ language development, academic achievement, and social-emotional well-being.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in K-12 school settings
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modes used by DHH students
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary teams, families, and staff
- Excellent organizational, communication, and advocacy skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an onsite, inclusive, and/or pull-out setting
- Adapt curriculum materials to meet individualized student goals and provide access to the general education environment
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with school guidelines
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture and promote awareness of Deaf/hard of hearing culture
