Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid GA ASL Interpreter credential/certification
- Experience teaching or supporting deaf and hard of hearing students within a school setting
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to collaborate on educational goals
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with both students and staff
- Flexibility to work with students across a wide age and grade range
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver customized instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students, adapting materials to meet varying language and communication needs
- Support students in both general and special education settings, providing resources, adaptations, and advocacy
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere for students, families, and staff
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding strategies and tools to support accessibility
