Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school-based setting
- Proficiency with sign language and alternative communication methods
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, staff, and families
- Skills in IEP development and implementation
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Tailor lesson plans to meet diverse language and learning needs
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and student confidence
- Assess student progress and adapt instruction to maximize learning outcomes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student goals, including speech and language pathologists, audiologists, and other professionals
- Serve as a resource for faculty and families on best practices and tools for supporting deaf or hard of hearing students
- Participate in IEP meetings and help develop appropriate accommodations, modifications, and goals
