Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Lowell, MA

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (DHH) or eligibility to obtain
- Proven experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
- Strong understanding of auditory, oral, and/or sign language communication modalities
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, families, and other professionals
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible classroom
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse learner needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Advocate for student accommodations and modifications within inclusive and specialized settings
- Support students in developing language, literacy, and self-advocacy skills
- Provide consultative services and training to classroom teachers, staff, and families related to accessibility and communication strategies
- Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining thorough records
