Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience working with children or adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school environments
- Proficiency in assessing and adapting curriculum to accommodate students’ auditory needs
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and students
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices and technology is a plus
- Knowledge of IEP processes and commitment to individualized instruction
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct instructional services to students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement educational plans tailored to students’ unique abilities and learning styles
- Adapt materials and teaching methods to enhance accessibility and engagement
- Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation in adherence to school and state guidelines
- Consult regularly with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other support staff to foster inclusive practices
- Participate in IEP meetings, offering insights and recommendations for student success
- Support the integration of assistive technology to promote communication and academic growth
