Requirements:
- Active Texas Deaf & Hard of Hearing EC-12 teaching certification
- TASC or TASC-ASL certification
- Recent experience working in a school setting supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Comfortable completing evaluations, reading/interpreting audiograms, and participating in ARD meetings
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload
- Must complete fingerprinting through the TEA (if not recently completed for another public school district) before start; clearance required for onboarding
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Deliver direct instruction and support tailored to students' language needs
- Conduct evaluations and contribute to ARD meetings
- Read and interpret audiograms, working closely with allied professionals
- Serve as both an advocate and resource, fostering inclusion and communication access
- Adapt strategies to serve various age groups depending on assignment
