Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education certification
- Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement required
- Demonstrated experience or training in DHH instruction at the middle school level preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Adaptability for managing an itinerant schedule across various schools
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, supporting multiple middle school sites
- Provide direct instruction to students with hearing loss, tailoring lessons to individual educational needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to recommend and implement effective strategies
- Offer consultative guidance and resources to school teams and staff
- Develop and participate in IEP meetings, continually monitoring student progress and advocating for appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Maintain thorough documentation and consistent communication regarding student development
- Stay current with best practices and innovations in DHH education
