Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Owego, New York

Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
- Experience working with children or adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in educational settings
- Strong proficiency with sign language and/or other communication modalities used in Deaf education
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability to meet varied student needs
- Ability to create inclusive, student-centered lesson plans and adapt curriculum
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to partner with faculty, staff, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across a range of grade levels and abilities
- Assess student needs and modify teaching strategies accordingly
- Advocate for student accessibility and accommodations within the school community
- Work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster a supportive learning environment
- Contribute to IEP development and implementation
- Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
