Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Florida DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license required
  • Proven experience teaching or supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Strong ability to develop, adapt, and implement individualized educational plans
  • Familiarity with current assistive technology and communication strategies
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort in working across K-12 grade levels

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver effective instruction tailored to students with varying degrees of hearing loss
  • Use visual and auditory strategies and tools to enhance access to the curriculum
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to coordinate services
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning
  • Advocate for students and facilitate their participation in all aspects of school life
  • Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and communication documentation
