Make a meaningful impact while working as a DHH Consultant for the 26/27 school year on a part-time basis (approximately 3-4 days per week). In this contract position, you’ll collaborate with educators, staff, and families to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid teaching credentials with specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
- Demonstrated experience as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- In-depth understanding of instructional strategies for students with hearing loss.
- Proficiency in sign language (ASL or other signing methods) is highly valued.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and school administrators.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and support services for students with hearing impairments.
- Advise classroom teachers and staff on modifications, accommodations, and accessibility tools.
- Assist in the development and review of IEPs related to hearing support needs.
- Conduct student observations and assessments to inform recommendations.
- Collaborate with families to promote optimal learning outcomes.
- Offer training and resources to school personnel for DHH student support.
- Stay abreast of current research and developments in Deaf education.
