Certified Audiologist Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Arlington, Texas
A full-time Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing with certification in high school core subjects is needed for a school in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, specifically Arlington, TX. This role focuses on teaching high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing, working Monday through Friday for 35 hours per week. Part-time opportunities may also be available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the educational needs of deaf and hard of hearing high school students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with students’ learning goals
- Collaborate with audiologists and other support staff to enhance student learning and communication
- Utilize technology and computer resources to support classroom instruction and student engagement
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to promote academic success
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Texas Department of Education certification, specifically for teaching high school core subjects
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
- Strong skills in English and computer literacy to support instructional needs
- Ability to manage a high school caseload effectively and communicate clearly with students, families, and colleagues
