Essential Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (required)
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children
- Familiarity with various communication methods, including ASL and auditory-oral approaches
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with multidisciplinary educational teams
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, accessible learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Assess student progress and adapt teachings for individual learning styles
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure comprehensive support
- Advocate for students’ access to appropriate resources, services, and technology
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
