Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Trona, CA
An opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education to provide one-on-one instruction at an onsite school location in Trona, California. This contract position is scheduled from early August 2026 through late May 2027, with approximately 15 hours per week dedicated to supporting a student with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Provide individualized educational support and interventions on a 1:1 basis
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement appropriate educational plans
- Utilize appropriate classroom accommodations and assistive technologies to enhance learning
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students who have hearing loss in an educational setting
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, families, and team members
- Knowledge of DHH instructional strategies and assistive listening devices
- Ability to work onsite consistently as the role requires presence in the school environment
