This contract opportunity is based onsite and provides specialized support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing for the 2026–2027 academic year. Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement or credential (required)
- Proven experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ideally in a school setting
- In-depth knowledge of Deaf culture, language development, and educational accommodations
- Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal—with students, staff, and families
- Able to adapt instructional strategies to meet individualized student needs
- Comfortable working onsite in a school environment throughout the academic year
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional services to a student who is deaf or hard of hearing, supporting IEP goals and academic achievement
- Develop and adapt lesson plans, teaching materials, and communication methods according to each student’s specific needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families to foster inclusion and opportunity
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary for the best outcomes
- Advocate for accessibility and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring appropriate modifications are in place
