Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational environment near Red Mountain. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering specialized instruction and advocacy for DHH students during the 2026-2027 academic year. Working 15 hours weekly onsite, you’ll provide targeted support tailored to a 1:1 caseload—ensuring each student receives the individualized attention and expertise that drives growth and achievement.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Demonstrated experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities used by DHH students
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible classroom environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with both students and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to assigned DHH student(s)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to suit student’s communication needs, strengths, and educational goals
- Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators, families, and onsite specialists to ensure holistic support and positive student outcomes
- Employ progress monitoring, assessment tools, and feedback to tailor instruction
- Serve as an advocate for DHH students, promoting self-advocacy and independence
