Key Qualifications:
- Valid credentials in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) education or equivalent state certification
- Prior experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably within school settings
- Deep understanding of auditory impairment, language development, and individualized instruction techniques
- Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans to accommodate student communication needs
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Passion for fostering an inclusive, encouraging learning environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized instruction and support to a student identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure student success
- Adapt curriculum materials, using appropriate technological and visual aids as needed
- Monitor and document student progress, contributing to ongoing educational plans
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expertise for goal-setting and progress reporting
- Advocate for accessible resources and accommodations
