What you’ll bring:
- Valid teaching credential with authorization for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ideally in a school-based setting
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities relevant to DHH students
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative mindset for working alongside special education teams, parents, and school staff
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing caseload details
Your main responsibilities:
- Provide direct, 1:1 instructional support to a student, tailoring lessons for individual needs
- Assess and track student progress, maintaining accurate records in collaboration with school stakeholders
- Participate in IEP meetings to contribute expertise and ensure effective educational outcomes
- Consult and communicate with families, specialists, and classroom teachers to support student integration and success
- Maintain compliance with all district and state special education requirements
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere on campus
