Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience providing interpretation services in educational settings
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive classroom environment
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and discussions for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ensuring full access to curriculum content
- Support the academic and social success of students using ASL both in and outside of classroom settings
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to modify resources and implement accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals
