Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - North Carolina

A specialized educator is needed to deliver telehealth services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This contract role involves working remotely with school-aged children, providing tailored support to enhance their communication skills and educational success through virtual platforms.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments and individualized education planning for students with hearing impairments via telehealth.
• Implementing specialized instructional strategies and interventions designed for deaf and hard of hearing learners.
• Collaborating with school staff, families, and other professionals to support student progress.
• Monitoring and documenting student outcomes and adapting services as needed to maximize effectiveness.
• Utilizing assistive technology and remote communication tools to facilitate learning.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• Experience delivering telehealth services in an educational setting, preferably with school-age children.
• Strong knowledge of hearing loss types, communication methodologies, and educational accommodations.
• Proficiency with virtual communication platforms and related technology.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently under contract terms.
