Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - NC
A contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing specializing in Telehealth services within an educational setting located in Gastonia, NC.
Responsibilities include delivering specialized telehealth instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, collaborating with education professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans, and utilizing technology effectively to ensure accessible and engaging learning experiences. This role requires adapting teaching methods to meet diverse communication needs and monitoring student progress to adjust interventions as appropriate.
Desired qualifications and experience include:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in telehealth platforms and digital instructional tools
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school environment
- Strong communication skills, including American Sign Language (ASL), preferred
- Ability to assess and address individual student learning needs
