Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - North Carolina

An opportunity is available for a Telehealth Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education, serving students remotely within a school setting. This contract-based role involves delivering specialized instruction and support tailored to students with hearing impairments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing individualized and group teletherapy sessions for students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Collaborating with educational teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Utilizing appropriate technologies and strategies to enhance remote learning experiences
• Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional approaches to meet individual needs
• Communicating regularly with parents, caregivers, and professionals to support student development

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Certification or licensure relevant to teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Experience delivering instruction via telehealth platforms in an educational environment
• Strong understanding of audiological assessments, assistive listening devices, and communication strategies
• Ability to adapt teaching methods for remote delivery while maintaining engagement and effectiveness
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
