Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in NC

A specialized role is available for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing delivering telehealth services. This contract position requires providing expert educational support to students with hearing challenges through remote platforms, ensuring accessibility and tailored instruction that meets individual needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized teletherapy sessions to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Assessing students’ auditory and language development remotely and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborating with families and school personnel through virtual communication to support student progress
- Documenting student progress and maintaining accurate records in compliance with program guidelines
- Utilizing technology effectively to engage students and meet educational goals within a virtual environment
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Certification in education of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing or related credential
- Experience providing telehealth services to school-age children
- Strong knowledge of auditory-verbal therapy methods and communication modalities for students with hearing impairments
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect remotely
- Familiarity with special education regulations and individualized education program (IEP) processes
