Provide specialized instructional services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through telehealth platforms in an educational setting. This contract position is based in Helotes, TX, and focuses on delivering effective remote support tailored to the unique communication and learning needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct telehealth sessions to assess and address the educational needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with classroom teachers, specialists, and families
- Utilize specialized technologies and communication strategies to enhance learning outcomes
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student performance and services provided
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for students
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience delivering instruction via telehealth or remote platforms preferred
- Strong knowledge of communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL), auditory-verbal therapy, or other relevant techniques
- Ability to create engaging, accessible lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for virtual collaboration
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and educational software used with Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners
