Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in MD
A contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services. This role involves delivering specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, utilizing telehealth technology to ensure effective communication and learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Conduct virtual instruction sessions and assessments via telehealth platforms
- Collaborate with educators, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists to support student progress
- Monitor and document student performance and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Provide resources and training to families to support student learning at home
Qualifications and Experience:
- State certification or licensure as a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing
- Experience providing instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficiency with telehealth tools and virtual communication platforms
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage students remotely
- Knowledge of audiological and speech-language services to complement educational goals
