A contract position is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services. This role supports students through remote instructional methods, ensuring accessibility and tailored learning experiences for individuals with hearing impairments.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing via telehealth platforms
- Collaborating with families, audiologists, and other educational professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Utilizing technology effectively to provide clear, accessible communication during virtual sessions
- Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on student achievements and challenges
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure appropriate for teaching deaf or hard of hearing students
- Experience with telehealth or remote instruction methods in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of communication development, auditory skills, and assistive technology for hearing-impaired learners
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
