A contract opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education via telehealth services. This role is based in Laurel, MD, and focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments through virtual platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing using telehealth technology.
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with families, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student growth and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student performance and progress.
- Stay current with best practices and advances in deaf education and telehealth methodologies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience delivering instruction via telehealth or virtual platforms.
- Strong knowledge of auditory and visual communication methods.
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students and families.
