A full-time Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) instruction is needed for the 2026/2027 school year, with opportunities for virtual or hybrid arrangements. The position is based in Port Charlotte, FL, and involves teletherapy and telehealth services to support diverse student needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining valid Florida teaching certification and adhering to state and district regulations.
- Preparing and managing accurate student records and reports.
- Supporting individualized student learning plans and classroom management.
- Creating a safe, orderly, and engaging learning environment appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
- Designing and implementing lesson plans using varied instructional techniques and media.
- Collaborating with paraprofessionals and other educators to differentiate instruction across multi-grade classrooms.
- Enforcing school policies and fulfilling contractual obligations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Valid Florida teacher certification in Elementary Education and Exceptional Student Education (ESE), or equivalent.
- ESOL endorsement is required.
- Preferred qualifications include Communications Disorder unit, Autism endorsement or certification.
- Ability to differentiate instruction effectively in a multi-grade classroom setting.
Position Details:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).
- Contract period: August 3, 2026 – May 31, 2027.
- Location: Port Charlotte, FL (with virtual and hybrid options available).
