Teacher of the Deaf in Milwaukee, WI

Ideal candidates will possess:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or a related area
- Prior experience working with school-aged children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong understanding of audiological equipment, assistive technology, and accommodations
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student advocacy
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
You will be responsible for:
- Designing, adapting, and delivering individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Supporting language development and academic growth for students with hearing differences
- Facilitating communication between students, families, and staff
- Conducting assessments and gathering data to inform instructional decisions
- Consulting on modifications, supports, and classroom strategies
- Serving as a resource for staff regarding Deaf/Hard of Hearing best practices
- Encouraging self-advocacy and independence in students
