Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility in Utah)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong knowledge of various communication modalities, including American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting materials to meet individualized needs
- Provide consultation, resources, and support to general education teachers and administrators
- Assess student performance and progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary
- Foster inclusive classroom environments and advocate for accessibility and equity
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings as an active team member
- Support students’ language, social-emotional, and academic development
