Key Qualifications:
- State credentials as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience with students in elementary or middle school settings
- Strong knowledge of current best practices and educational strategies for deaf or hard of hearing students
- Familiarity with creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and direct services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure students can access curriculum and school activities
- Support classroom staff, offering resources and strategies for effective inclusion
- Conduct assessments and contribute to the development and review of IEPs
- Maintain detailed records and progress reports for each student on the caseload
- Participate in meetings and provide guidance on assistive technology and accommodations
