Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) Certification issued in Texas
  • Experience working with young children in educational or therapeutic settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially with multidisciplinary teams
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for students with hearing differences
  • Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans for diverse learners and accommodate various communication modalities
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and best practices for early intervention

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to early childhood students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with student teams and families
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure access and inclusion
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for optimal learning
  • Advocate for student needs and communicate regularly with families
