Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for deaf or hard of hearing students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of assistive technology and alternative communication methods (such as ASL, cued speech, or written English)
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, supporting their academic and language development
- Assess students' needs and progress, updating goals and accommodations as necessary
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other support staff to ensure inclusive and accessible learning environments
- Offer guidance and resources to families to strengthen the home-to-school connection
