This opportunity is for a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist position based in Gillette, WY, working within a school setting that supports K-12 students. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, addressing their unique educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to develop and implement effective communication and learning strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly to maximize outcomes.
  • Facilitate the integration of assistive technologies and services tailored to students’ hearing and learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records, including caseload documentation and progress reports.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) license or certification.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of educational techniques and communication methods specific to the DHH population.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned region as required.
  • Proven collaboration and communication skills with families and educational teams.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

  • Start Date: As soon as available (ASA)
  • End Date: End of School Year (EOSY)
  • Hours: 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, totaling 37.5 hours
  • Pay Rate: $35-$42 per hour
  • Caseload: Number of students on caseload will be provided upon placement
