Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- State certification/licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt instruction to individual learning needs
- Proficient in assistive listening technologies and American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred
- Enthusiasm for working with K-12 students in an educational environment
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students with hearing loss
- Assess student abilities and create individualized educational plans
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other professionals to implement classroom strategies
- Offer guidance and training for staff to support inclusive practices
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Engage actively with families to ensure comprehensive support for students
- Promote self-advocacy and social-emotional growth among students
