Qualifications:
- State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (per Illinois requirements)
- Demonstrated proficiency in supporting DHH students of varying ages and abilities
- Experience with itinerant services or classroom-based instruction (preferred)
- Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills
- Valid driver’s license (for itinerant positions)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative educational services to DHH students
- Collaborate with school staff, administrators, and families to support student growth
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learner needs
- Travel between assigned schools (itinerant) or serve at one middle school site
