Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Holds an active Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) License
- Possesses a valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experienced in teaching or supporting students with hearing impairments is highly valued
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Adaptable and proactive approach to meeting individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and specialized support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with educators and related service providers to design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance student access and participation
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to parents and educational teams
- Facilitate a positive and accessible classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement
