Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Experience working with children and adolescents from PreK-12 in educational or related settings
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods beneficial for DHH students
  • Strong advocacy skills to support students’ academic and social needs
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs for DHH students

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to a caseload of eight DHH students across various age groups
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to ensure student success
  • Assess students’ progress and modify strategies as needed
  • Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs to meet each student’s unique goals
  • Foster a welcoming, communication-rich classroom environment
  • Provide resources and support to empower students in and out of the classroom
