Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience working with children and adolescents from PreK-12 in educational or related settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods beneficial for DHH students
- Strong advocacy skills to support students’ academic and social needs
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs for DHH students
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to a caseload of eight DHH students across various age groups
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to ensure student success
- Assess students’ progress and modify strategies as needed
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs to meet each student’s unique goals
- Foster a welcoming, communication-rich classroom environment
- Provide resources and support to empower students in and out of the classroom
