Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Florence, KY
An opportunity is available for a dedicated professional with expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to work on a contract basis. This position serves students from PreK through 12th grade, offering the chance to make a significant impact throughout the school year. The assignment begins on August 10, 2026, and concludes on May 24, 2027. You will be supporting a manageable caseload of 8 students, with weekly hours ranging from 30 to 40.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience providing instruction and support for children who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Ability to work with students across a broad age range (PreK-12)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement tailored lesson plans for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student learning
- Advocate for student needs and provide necessary accommodations within varied classroom settings
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
