Seeking a dedicated professional with expertise in working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, as well as proficiency as a Braillist, to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting. Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or proven experience as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist
- Strong skills in Braille transcription, reading, and instructional support
- Experience collaborating with educators to implement effective learning strategies for students with sensory impairments
- Ability to individualize support and materials to meet diverse student needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Understanding of IEP processes, accommodations, and assistive technologies is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized educational support to students who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or blind/visually impaired
- Develop, adapt, and transcribe curriculum materials into accessible formats such as Braille or visual supports
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success and inclusion
- Facilitate the use of assistive technology and devices as needed
- Support IEP implementation and documentation
- Foster an encouraging, accessible, and respectful classroom environment
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing progress notes
