Key Qualifications:
- Experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing, or proficiency as a Braillist
- Strong understanding of communication modalities (ASL, Signed English, or similar) or braille transcription
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, specialists, and family members
- Detail-oriented and adaptable in delivering individualized support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive educational environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or visually impaired
- Transcribe educational materials into braille or assist with other adaptive formats as needed
- Support classroom instruction and provide accommodations to meet IEP goals
- Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding communication, sensory access, and adaptive technology
- Participate in team meetings relating to student progress and instructional strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of services provided
