Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated, qualified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) to support K-12 students across Hanover County, Virginia. This role involves a vital mix of direct instruction and consultative services to ensure students with hearing impairments have equal access to learning opportunities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver a combination of direct specialized instruction and indirect consultative services to K-12 students with hearing loss.
- Travel to assigned school sites within Hanover County to provide onsite support and collaborate with educational teams.
- Assess student needs, track progress, and contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Adapt core curricula, specialized equipment, and assistive technology to meet individual student learning profiles.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, general staff, administrators, and parents to support inclusive classroom environments.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (or related field).
- Licensure: Valid Virginia Teaching Certification with Endorsement as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Must be able to commute onsite to multiple schools within Hanover County.
