Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
• Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (as required by the state)
• Demonstrated expertise in providing direct instruction to students with hearing impairments
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other appropriate communication modes
• Experience assessing educational needs and developing individualized plans for DHH students
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities
• Passion for inclusive, student-centered teaching

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction and academic support based on students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
• Utilize a variety of communication methods, including ASL and assistive technology, to maximize student engagement and learning
• Advocate for students’ participation in the classroom and wider school community
• Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure consistent support and accommodations
• Conduct assessments and provide input for IEP development and progress monitoring
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
