Embrace an itinerant role providing both direct instruction and consultative support across educational settings. Your expertise in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education will guide teams to ensure students thrive academically and socially. While in-person services are preferred, applicants able to provide high-quality virtual instruction will also be considered.
Qualifications:
- California credential or eligibility to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Experience with students across a range of ages and educational placements
- Strong foundation in American Sign Language (ASL), auditory/oral, or total communication methods
- Ability to deliver engaging, accessible instruction and collaborate effectively with school teams and families
- Flexibility to travel between sites, if providing services in person
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction in alignment with IEP goals for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Provide consultative support to general education teachers and related staff
- Adapt curriculum and advocate for accessible materials/accommodations
- Monitor progress, conduct assessments, and participate actively in IEP meetings
- Guide families and staff on best practices for supporting communication and learning
